The soft, creamy wines of Vouvray, in
the Loire valley are produced from the Chenin grape. Harvested almost
over-ripe this grape produces wines which are extraordinarily soft,
with a bouquet of acacia and a taste of quince. It is a wine which can
be laid down for some considerable time, up to 100 years. Served
chilled as an apertif, with hors-d'oeuvres or with desserts, the
velvety Vouvray will be appreciated to the full. |
