General Information
The 80-hectare vineyard of Chateau Pontet-Canet, a prestigious classified growth, encompasses the finest terrain of all the estates situated in Pauillac-Bordeaux's famed sub-region located on the west side of Medoc. Thanks to scrupulous viticulture and vinification regulations, the wines of Chateau Pontet-Canet are among the most reknowned and most representative of the Pauillac appellation. This wine should ideally be cellared for extended ageing, as it requires time to reveal the characteristic qualities Pauillac wines: full body, dark color, truffle and chocolate flavors.

Winemaker's Note

Located in the town of Pauillac of the Haut-Medoc region , where the soil contains heavy gravel which is important to the wine growing as it reflects the sun and allows excellent drainage. Full-bodied with aromas of ripe currants and berries. Smooth Tannins with a long finish, this wine should cellar well into the next decade. Best served with heavy meats, grilled steak and spicy chicken

A Bordeaux wine is any wine produced in the Bordeaux region of France. Over 700 million bottles of Bordeaux wine are produced every year, ranging from large quantities of everyday table wine, to some of the most expensive and prestigious wines in the world. Most Bordeaux wine is red, but sweet white wines have also contributed to the region's reputation, and dry white, rosé and sparkling wines (Crémant de Bordeaux) are also produced. Bordeaux wine is made in 9,000 wineries usually called châteaux from the grapes of 13,000 grape growers. There are 57 appellations of Bordeaux wine.
